About This Service

This play based assessment is designed to provide a thorough understanding of your child’s abilities and create a roadmap for their therapy journey. By focusing on modified CIMT (Constraint Induced Movement Therapy) and Bimanual Therapy, we aim to improve your child’s upper limb function while empowering you as a parent to continue these techniques at home.

During the session, we will:

  • Measure range of movement and muscle tone.
  • Perform the Assisting Hand Assessment (AHA) – a play based, objective evaluation specifically developed for children with hemiplegia. This involves your child playing with bimanual toys while being recorded for analysis.
  • Provide a custom cast (if appropriate) and a mini report with practical activity suggestions.
  • Give you access to online modules (link to be added) for continued therapy support.

If you’re considering an intensive program, our therapists will advise you on the best combination and duration of CIMT and Bimanual Therapy tailored to your child’s unique needs.

Session Duration

The session will last between 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your child’s engagement and the questions you may have.
