profile
Olivia Wilkinson qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2013, earning a first class BSc Honours degree from the University of Salford. She began her career at the Royal Oldham Hospital, completing initial rotations before transitioning to paediatrics. In her first paediatric role with a private company, Olivia discovered her passion for working with children, cementing this as her area of specialism.
In 2016, Olivia trained in Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) and Bimanual Therapy, which have remained key areas of interest in her practice. She has years of experience assessing and delivering intensive treatment programs designed to improve upper limb function and enable children to participate in functional daily activities. Olivia’s approach focuses on empowering children to achieve their goals and supporting families in their therapy journey.
Olivia is also Level 3 Sensory Integration trained, allowing her to tailor therapy sessions to meet the unique sensory needs of each child. This expertise ensures children are calm, engaged and better able to access therapy, creating an optimal environment for progress.
Olivia has worked with Helping Hemi Hands for five years, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience in treating children and babies with hemiplegia. Her passion for helping children meet their functional goals is unrivalled and families greatly appreciate her pragmatic and supportive approach to therapy.
